Softball Recap: Sheboygan South Comes Up Short

Sheboygan South had lost 18 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-10 to make it 19. They lost 19-0 to the Green Bay Preble Hornets. If the Redwings were looking for revenge after losing 19-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Green Bay Preble, the win keeps they at an undefeated 12-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.1 runs this season.

For Green Bay Preble's part, Katie Geydoshek made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Geydoshek has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ella Cotter was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sam Foytik, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Green Bay Preble beat Sheboygan South by a score of 19-0 later that day.
