Basketball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 51-44 to the Sandoval Blackhawks. The Bluestreaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Quentin Heinzman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Hoffman, who posted six points and five boards.

Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Sandoval, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Martinsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 39-38 loss against Trico on the 1st. Sandoval has also already played their next game, a 34-30 win against Cisne on the 1st.
