Softball Preview: Peach County Trojans vs. Dougherty Trojans        
        
		
             The Peach County Trojans will head out on the road to  square off against  the Dougherty Trojans  at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Peach County has five straight  wins, Dougherty has 17 straight  defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Dougherty's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them  on Thursday: Peach County didn't have allowed a single  run the last five times they've hit the field. Peach County never let Northside onto the board and left with  a   4-0  victory  on Wednesday.
 Not much got past  Gracie Martin, who gave up just  one  hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Northside off the board.
 At the plate, Peach County's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Ta'Mori Hollingshed, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3.  Saniya Martin also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Peach County  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 11  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've posted since  back in August.
 Meanwhile, Dougherty fell victim to Cairo and their airtight pitching crew  on Tuesday. They lost  16-0 to the Syrupmakers.
 Peach County's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Dougherty, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.
 Dougherty's hitters will have their work cut out for them  on Thursday. Peach County has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.8  strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Dougherty, though, as  they've been averaging  only 2.8. Will Peach County keep running through batters, or will Dougherty buck the trend?
 Everything went Peach County's way against Dougherty in their previous matchup  last Tuesday as Peach County made off with  a  20-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Peach County since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
