Basketball Recap: Ocracoke Takes a Loss

Ocracoke fought the good fight in their overtime game against Hobgood Charter on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hobgood Charter Raiders by a score of 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dolphins have suffered since November 27, 2023.

Hobgood Charter was led to victory by Kinsey Peel and Lilli Braddy. Peel dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards, while Braddy posted six points and 13 rebounds. Braddy is becoming a predictor of Hobgood Charter's success: when she posts at least ten rebounds the team is 2-1 (and 5-8 when she doesn't).

Ocracoke has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Hobgood Charter, their record is now 7-9.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mattamuskeet the next time they take the court. Hobgood Charter will head out to face Mattamuskeet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Ocracoke will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
