Soccer Game Preview: Blacksburg vs. Charlottesville

The Blacksburg Bruins will face off against the Charlottesville Black Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Blacksburg comes in on three and Charlottesville on five.

Blacksburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Jefferson Forest 2-1. Given Blacksburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Jefferson Forest are ranked 33rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Charlottesville kept a clean sheet against Handley on Wednesday. They beat the Judges by a goal, winning 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Charlottesville were the better team in the second half.

Charlottesville's win bumped their record up to 15-0-3. As for Blacksburg, their victory bumped their record up to 17-1.
