Softball Recap: Chipley Snags Ninth Victory in Last Ten Games

Chipley won the last time they faced Ponce De Leon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 8-2 victory. Considering the Tigers have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Olivia Brown, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

Chipley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Ponce De Leon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Chipley will challenge Abbeville Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Generals have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups. As for Ponce De Leon, they will take on Paxton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season.
