Basketball Recap: Alief Elsik Comes Up Short

On Tuesday, the Alief Elsik Rams came up short against the Almeta Crawford Chargers and fell 49-41. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Alief Elsik still got an impressive performance from Timothy Ofesi, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 21 boards. Ofesi is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played.

Almeta Crawford found their leader in sophomore Alvin Mosley, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 19 rebounds. Those 19 boards set a new season-high mark for Mosley. Cortez Taylor was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Alief Elsik's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Almeta Crawford, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Alief Elsik wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-46 defeat against Strake Jesuit on the 3rd. As for Almeta Crawford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-51 victory against Royal on the 3rd.
