Basketball Recap: Yucaipa Snags 18th Win in Last 20 Games

It's playoff time, and Yucaipa had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 71-60 victory over the Lawndale Cardinals on Wednesday.

Yucaipa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jonathan Campbell out in front who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 14 boards. Campbell has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Malik Young, who went 5-for-12 en route to 19 points along with five boards and three steals.

Yucaipa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Lawndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-11.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Thunderbirds duke it out with the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yucaipa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season. Lawndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
