Absegami dropped their record down to 7-3 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Spirit Spartans. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Holy Spirit, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games.

For Holy Spirit's part, Chase Rubenstein looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Ty Costablie was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Doug Schuster, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Absegami will take on Overbrook at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Braves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Holy Spirit, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lenape at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
