Basketball Game Preview: Margaretta Polar Bears vs. Oak Harbor Rockets

Margaretta has won five straight games at home, while Oak Harbor has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Margaretta Polar Bears will welcome the Oak Harbor Rockets at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Margaretta beat Vermilion 48-40. Given the Polar Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Sailors are ranked 478th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Oak Harbor ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They managed a 60-55 victory over Maumee. The win almost wasn't to be: the Rockets were down 42-28 in the third quarter.

Oak Harbor is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Margaretta, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4.

Everything came up roses for Margaretta against Oak Harbor when the teams last played back in February of 2023, as the team secured a 50-19 win. Does Margaretta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oak Harbor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
