Softball Recap: Cleveland Triumphs

Cleveland never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the McMinn County Cherokees. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Blue Raiders also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Huntlee Dennison, who gave up just a hit to keep McMinn County off the board. Dennison has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cleveland let Ariyah Huffman and Lilly Mason run wild. Huffman scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Mason scored a run while going 2-for-2. Huffman also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brylee Cisco, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The win got Cleveland back to even at 8-8. As for McMinn County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.

Cleveland wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-1 loss against East Hamilton on the 2nd. As for McMinn County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-4 victory against Bradley Central on the 3rd.
