StoneBridge takes loss despite strong efforts from Tyler Thompson and Alex DeVane

Recap: StoneBridge Cavaliers vs. Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks

It was a good run, but the StoneBridge Cavaliers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 79-33 defeat at the hands of Atlantic Shores Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat StoneBridge has suffered against Atlantic Shores Christian since January 28, 2021.

Alex DeVane and Tyler Thompson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. DeVane scored 12 points along with six rebounds, while Thompson scored six points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Wells, who scored five points.

StoneBridge's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-8. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

StoneBridge will head out on the road to face off against Greenbrier Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic Shores Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Kempsville at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Kempsville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
