Baseball Recap: Maynard Comes Up Short

Maynard lost to Rector back in March of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tigers took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eli Cummings was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and one run. Those stolen bases were his first of the season. Kennedy Story was another key player, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Maynard's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Rector, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maynard will welcome Hillcrest at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rector, they will be playing at home against Corning at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
