Recap: Shadow Ridge Mustangs vs. Sierra Vista Mountain Lions
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Shadow Ridge Mustangs can now relate to. They took a 76-67 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mountain Lions on Friday. The matchup was a 34-34 toss-up at halftime, but Shadow Ridge couldn't quite close it out.
When it comes to explaining why Shadow Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jalen Butler. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with five steals. Butler hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Jesse Judkins, who scored 15 points.
Shadow Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Sierra Vista, they pushed their record up to 19-8 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Shadow Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sierra Vista, they will head out on the road to face off against Rancho at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Rancho knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 matches -- so hopefully Sierra Vista likes a good challenge.
