Softball Recap: Ellsworth Wins Going Away Against Foxcroft Academy

While Ellsworth put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Foxcroft Academy. The Eagles blew past the Ponies 13-0. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Ellsworth saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Emerton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Ellsworth has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Foxcroft Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Ellsworth will face off against Mount Desert Island at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Foxcroft Academy, they will square off against Mattanawcook at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lynx's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Ponies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
