Football Recap: Shadow Creek Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Shadow Creek dropped to 5-3 on Friday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pearland Oilers. The Sharks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Oilers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Shadow Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylen Addai picked up 167 receiving yards and two TDs. Those 167 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Addai.

As for Pearland, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.3 points on average this season.

Ja'Maurey Champion produced another solid performance rushing for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Coincidentally, Shadow Creek and Pearland will both be playing South Houston the next time they take the field. The Sharks will host the Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Oilers will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on November 6.
