Basketball Recap: Greenway Piles Up the Points Against Shadow Mountain

Greenway won the last time they faced Shadow Mountain and things went their way on Thursday too. The Greenway Demons blew past the Shadow Mountain Matadors, posting a 57-18 win. The Demons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 30 points or more this season.

Greenway can attribute much of their success to Alexandra Vazquez, who posted ten points in addition to eight steals and six boards. Vazquez has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Ramsie Hoil was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.

Greenway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive contests.

Greenway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.2 points per game. As for Shadow Mountain, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Greenway will face off against Moon Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Greenway is facing Moon Valley at the right time seeing as Moon Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Shadow Mountain has already played their next game, a 45-37 loss against Goldwater on the 31st.
