Baseball Game Preview: Lake Highland Prep Highlanders vs. Windermere Prep Lakers

The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders will venture away from home to take on the Windermere Prep Lakers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lake Highland Prep came up into this matchup off a tough 12-run loss on Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Eustis by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since March 8, 2024.

Lake Highland Prep got a good showing from Hayden Mackle, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Lake Highland Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Manny Socarras, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Windermere Prep had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 12-0 to Orangewood Christian on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Lake Highland Prep took their victory against Windermere Prep in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Highland Prep since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
