Recap: Fayette County Tigers vs. Troup County Tigers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sandy Creek, the Fayette County Tigers were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 72-56 victory over Troup County. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Fayette County to victory were Christian McAllister and Keith Gillespie. McAllister scored 21 points along with 7 assists and 5 rebounds, while Gillespie went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 3 assists. Gillespie hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Rutley, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds.
Fayette County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Troup County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.
Fayette County will face off against Northgate at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Northgate has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Troup County's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Harris County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Troup County is ranked 197th).
