Softball Game Preview: Bethel Park Black Hawks vs. Connellsville Falcons

The Bethel Park Black Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Connellsville Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Connellsville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bethel Park, who comes in off a win.

Bethel Park had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Peters Township on Wednesday. The Black Hawks blew past the Indians 19-9. The game marked the Black Hawks' most dominant victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Connellsville entered their contest against Baldwin on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Falcons lost 20-5 to the Highlanders. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Cali Leichliter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Bethel Park's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.5 runs this season. As for Connellsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Bethel Park came out on top in a nail-biter against Connellsville in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, sneaking past 5-3.
