Softball Recap: Lyford Comes Up Short

Lyford and Santa Gertrudis Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lyford had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since May 17, 2024.

Lyford's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-8.

While Lyford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
