Baseball Recap: Manitou Springs Gets the Win

Manitou Springs posted their closest victory since March 26, 2025 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Lamar Thunder. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Thunder on their field since May 21, 2022.

Kaden Bunker was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Manitou Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Lamar, they moved to 6-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Manitou Springs has already played their next game, a 17-7 defeat against St. Mary's on the 21st. As for Lamar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-7 win against Rye on the 20th.
