Baseball Game Preview: Rosemead Panthers vs. Mountain View Vikings

Rosemead is 2-8 against Mountain View since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to square off against the Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Mountain View took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rosemead, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Rosemead was able to grind out a solid victory over Gabrielino, taking the game 7-2.

Sebastian Genie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Rosemead let Logan Mojica and Juleean Pinto run wild. Mojica scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Pinto scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Pinto has become a key player for Rosemead: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Lucas Mojica, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Rosemead hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Mountain View's offense. They lost 10-0 to Marshall on Monday.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Rosemead, their record now sits at 4-11.
