DCIAA - Stripes recap November 5, 2013
McKinley Tech extended the longest winning streak in DCIAA - Stripes this week by beating Roosevelt, 38-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Roughriders lost to McKinley Tech 38-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Eastern's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jerome Johnson threw for 290 and 3 touchdowns and Dajuan Green had 142 yards receiving. On the ground Derrick Bowmen chipped in 72 yards. Ora Moore helped Eastern's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 86 yards.
He went 17-26 with 1 interception.
Green was the best receiver in the league this week as the Ramblers beat Cardozo. Green tallied 7 receptions for 142 yards. Moore helped Eastern's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 86 yards.
Eastern's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Ramblers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moore has thrown for 1,030 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Green has 45 catches for 650 yards. Moore also leads the league in rushing with 529 yards.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Eastern's Green goes up against Alimamy Kallay's team's Noah Brownlee.
Next week's game between Jason Strickland's team and the Trainers will feature an aerial matchup as Moore tests his arm against Brownlee's defensive ability.
The Ramblers are in third place, while McKinley Tech is in second place.
The league will see a high scoring game when Eastern and the Trainers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Ramblers comes in having scored 157 this season, while McKinley Tech has scored 280. Eastern scored 34 points last week as it defeated the Clerks.
The Trainers led DCIAA - Stripes in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on Roosevelt.
