Baseball Recap: Ajo Red Raiders vs. Heritage Academy Heroes
Ajo never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Heritage Academy on Thursday. They blew past the Heritage Academy Heroes 14-4. The Red Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Gabriel Cooper was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. Cooper was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Malin Lewis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jasai Del Rosario was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
