Basketball Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 48-40 to the Glendale Cardinals. The Dons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Glendale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Palomino out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. What's more, Palomino also racked up five blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Simon Sinohui was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Glendale, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coronado will head out to take on Dysart at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Dysart will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Coronado surely won't give up without a fight. As for Glendale, they will square off against Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glendale is facing Sierra Linda at the right time seeing as Sierra Linda is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
