League recap: Woolf races to league-leading run for Erie

Chris Woolf of Erie ran for the longest rushing play in Tri-Valley this season against Frontenac last week. Woolf ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 213 on the day as his team lost to the Raiders.

Fredonia was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Yellowjackets triumphed over Neodesha 30-27.

Erie's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Red Devils feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brett Thompson has thrown for 471 yards and 5 touchdowns this season, while Garek Peters has 17 catches for 260 yards.

Erie's Woolf needs only 13 yards against Southeast next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Woolf has rushed for 987 yards on 117 carries so far this year.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Humboldt takes on Caney Valley. At the moment, the Cubs are in first, while the Bullpups are in third.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Humboldt takes on Caney Valley. K.B. Criss' team has allowed 103 points this season, while Criss Davis' team has given up 53.

Eureka lost to the Bullpups 53-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
