Soccer Game Preview: West Chicago vs. Lake Park

The West Chicago Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Lake Park Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Chicago will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Park will be coming in after a defeat.

West Chicago headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Ridgewood let them put that streak behind them. The Wildcats blew past the Rebels 12-0 on Friday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering West Chicago's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Ridgewood are ranked 345th).

Meanwhile, Lake Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Addison Trail.

Lake Park's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for West Chicago, their win bumped their record up to 5-6-5.

Everything went West Chicago's way against Lake Park in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as West Chicago made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
