Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Pontotoc). Their defense stepped up to hand the Byhalia Indians a 14-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting Byhalia from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Anne Crotwell led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for nine goals all by herself.

The win made it two in a row for North Pontotoc and bumps their season record up to 10-3. As for Byhalia, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

North Pontotoc will venture away from home to face off against South Pontotoc at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Byhalia, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Pontotoc at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
