Basketball Recap: Staunton Takes a Loss

Staunton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Green Hornets are ranked 73rd).

Staunton's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Wilson Memorial, the victory (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Staunton will face off against Harrisonburg at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson Memorial has already played their next contest (against Buffalo Gap), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
