Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Watkins Memorial walked away with it. They came out on top against the Westerville Central Warhawks by a score of 6-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won four in a row.

Jacy Severance spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paisley Conley, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Kyliee Trouten was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Watkins Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Westerville Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-7 record.

Looking ahead, Watkins Memorial will face off against Mt. Vernon at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their 19th straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. Westerville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
