Baseball Recap: Hillside Wins Going Away Against Southeast Raleigh

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Hillside was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs as the Hillside Hornets made off with an 11-1 win. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Tuesday, they had to take a 10-0 defeat.

Caleb Williams was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Eric Bonner, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Hillside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Hillside now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillside will welcome Enloe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Enloe's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Hillside's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Southeast Raleigh, they will host Knightdale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Southeast Raleigh has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
