Softball Recap: Haven Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Haven waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Hoisington Cardinals 8-2. Considering the Wildcats have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Morgan O'Neal, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season. Ella Bontrager was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Haven hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive matchups.

Haven's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Hoisington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haven will venture away from home to take on Nickerson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.63 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hoisington, they will challenge Halstead at 4:00 p.m. on May 1.
