Volleyball Recap: Dartmouth's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Dartmouth came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Barnstable Red Hawks. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Hawks earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Dartmouth had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.

Chloe McKinnon paced Dartmouth's offense, picking up 20 kills. McKinnon got some help from Lindsey Barber and her 28 assists. Jillian DuBois controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Barnstable to victory were Jazzy Coyer and Molly Colantuono. Coyer had eight digs and two aces, while Colantuono had five aces and three digs. That's the most aces Colantuono has posted since back in September. Briah Uhlman also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Dartmouth's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Barnstable, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Dartmouth has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Case on the 17th. As for Barnstable, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Notre Dame Academy on the 16th.
