Baseball Recap: St. Francis Prep Snaps 12-Game Streak of Wins at Home

St. Francis Prep dropped their record down to 18-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's 12-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Xaverian Clippers by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, with their most recent loss being a 18-7 defeat on Monday.

As for Xaverian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games.

For Xaverian's part, they got a great performance from Jude VanOoyen as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. VanOoyen has become a key player for the Clippers: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-15 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justin Rotundi, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Danny Cronin, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

As of now, neither St. Francis Prep nor Xaverian have any future games scheduled.
