Jonesboro won the last time they faced Elite Scholars Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Royal Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

Jonesboro had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-19, 15-6.

Jonesboro now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Elite Scholars Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Jonesboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against East Paulding on the 9th. As for Elite Scholars Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mount Vernon at 5:30 p.m. on the 21st.
