Basketball Recap: Bangs Takes a Loss

Bangs lost against Miles back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bangs Dragons were dealt a 68-37 loss at the hands of the Miles Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1453rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 714th).

Bangs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Alqorum, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Braxton Wommack, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Bangs has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Miles, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Bangs has already played their next match, a 54-51 victory against Winters on the 21st. As for Miles, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-29 win against Ballinger on the 21st.
