Softball Game Preview: Sierra Canyon Trailblazers vs. Louisville Royals

The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers will head out on the road to challenge the Louisville Royals at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Sierra Canyon will be strutting in after a win while Louisville will be coming in after a defeat.

Sierra Canyon is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Thursday. They skirted past Kennedy 8-7. The Trailblazers haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Louisville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 4-0 to Notre Dame (SO).

Louisville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Olmo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Louisville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Sierra Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Everything went Sierra Canyon's way against Louisville in their previous matchup back in April, as Sierra Canyon made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trailblazers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
