Basketball Recap: Amira Ferguson Key Part of a Team Effort in Sandcrabs Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flagler Palm Coast, Seabreeze was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They secured a 46-42 W over the Father Lopez Green Wave. This was payback for the Sandcrabs, who suffered a 47-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

Seabreeze's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amira Ferguson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Ferguson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amaya Bethea, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Seabreeze's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Father Lopez, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seabreeze and Winter Springs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Father Lopez, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
