            Vinton is preparing for their first  district matchup of the season  on Thursday. They will face off against the Pickering Red Devils at 7:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Vinton put up the most  points they have all season  on Friday. They took their  matchup  with ease, bagging  a  50-20 victory over Westminster Christian Academy. Considering the Lions have won three games by more than 29  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Meanwhile,  there's no place like home for Pickering, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  last Friday. They never let Crescent City Christian get on the board and left with  a   48-0  win  on Friday. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Devils as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
 Vinton's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Pickering, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
 Everything came up roses for Vinton against Pickering when the teams last played  back in October of 2024, as the  team secured  a  43-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
