Softball Game Preview: Streator Bulldogs vs. Lisle Lions

For the second straight game, Streator will face off against Lisle. The Bulldogs will welcome the Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Streator's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Lisle. The Bulldogs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 11-3).

Makenna Ondrey made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Kostal, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Alexcia Middleton was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

The win made it two in a row for Streator and bumps their season record up to 7-17. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Lisle, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
