Volleyball Recap: Washington Academy Takes Down Ranked Brewer + How To Watch

Washington Academy faced Brewer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Witches with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Washington Academy took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-12, 25-11.

Leading Washington Academy to victory were Lily Hennessey and Kellan Schwinn. Hennessey had 30 assists and three digs, while Schwinn hit 69.2% for nine kills and five aces and three digs. Hennessey has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

They weren't the only good servers: Washington Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brewer only served five.

Washington Academy's record now sits at 12-0. As for Brewer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington Academy will host Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Brewer, they will welcome Mount Desert Island at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
