It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Herscher ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Saturday. They skirted past the Lexington Minutemen  8-7. The Tigers'  victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet  this season.
 Anistin Hackley made a splash no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up  six earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Hackley was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with four  RBI and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news, Herscher got a big performance out of  Emery Fritz, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave  Fritz a new career-high in  RBI (two).  RyLyn Adams was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
 Herscher  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 15  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 15  hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Herscher's record now sits at 3-0. As for Lexington, they now  have a losing record of 1-2.
 Herscher wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  13-3  defeat against Bradley-Bourbonnais on the 24th. As for Lexington, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  15-0  win against Delavan on the 24th.
