Basketball Recap: North Victorious

If Ridge Spring-Monetta wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played North, they should've done a better job of containing Kailen Parks. The North Eagles took down the Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans 47-28 on Thursday thanks in part to Parks, who posted 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Parks is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kaliah Sprinkle, who put up five points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Ridge Spring-Monetta lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ny'Asia Young, who earned two points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Ligons, who scored eight points and five steals.

North's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-7 record.

North won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Blackville-Hilda at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Wagener-Salley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridge Spring-Monetta is facing Wagener-Salley at the right time seeing as Wagener-Salley is stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
