Basketball Preview: Colonial Forge Eagles vs. Brooke Point Black Hawks

Colonial Forge is 8-2 against the Black Hawks since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Colonial Forge Eagles' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Brooke Point Black Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Colonial Forge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-42 loss to the Bears. Colonial Forge has struggled against the Bears recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

While Brooke Point couldn't quite beat the Wildcats on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 71-point loss they were dealt on Friday. Brooke Point fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 39-36. Brooke Point has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Antoinette Sanusi put forth a good effort for the losing side as she almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Rinyah Jarrett was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Even though they lost, Brooke Point smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Colonial Forge's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-14. As for Brooke Point, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Everything came up roses for Colonial Forge against the Black Hawks in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 54-27 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Colonial Forge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
