Softball Recap: Burgettstown Has No Trouble Against Carlynton

Burgettstown's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Carlynton Cougars as they made off with a 15-3 win. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brooklyn Robinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Burgettstown got a massive performance out of Madison Guiddy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Guiddy a new career-high. Layla Sherman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Burgettstown now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Carlynton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Burgettstown will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
