Basketball Recap: Blake Nelson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pe Ell over Wahkiakum

Pe Ell lost against Wahkiakum back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pe Ell Trojans took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wahkiakum Mules.

Pe Ell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Blake Nelson, who posted six points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Nelson has been hot recently, having posted three or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam McGrath, who had ten points.

Even though they lost, Pe Ell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Pe Ell now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Wahkiakum, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Pe Ell has already played their next match, a 64-50 defeat against Columbia Adventist Academy on the 6th. Wahkiakum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
