Soccer Game Preview: Vidor vs. Jasper

The Vidor Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Jasper Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vidor is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Vidor fought the good fight in their overtime match against Hardin-Jefferson on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 3-2.

Despite a strong season so far, Jasper has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost 5-0 to Lumberton on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Raiders are ranked 250th).

Vidor's record now sits at 4-17-1. As for Jasper, their record now sits at 13-7-1.

Vidor beat Jasper by a goal in their previous matchup back in February, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vidor since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
