Softball Recap: Beardstown Takes a Loss

Beardstown might've scored the first runs on Saturday, but it was Cuba/Spoon River Valley who claimed the real prize. Beardstown fell just short of Cuba/Spoon River Valley by a score of 6-5. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Bella Palmer led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Nu?ez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Beardstown's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their record is now 4-1.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Beardstown Tigers face off against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, they will square off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
