Volleyball Recap: Lake Howell Has No Trouble Against Cocoa

The Lake Howell Silverhawks got the win against the Cocoa Tigers on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Silverhawks.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Lake Howell took every set by at least 19 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-5, 25-6.

Gladianis Agosto Rivera went supernova, getting 24 assists and nine aces. Those nine aces gave her a new career-high. Natalie Hana also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Lake Howell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 26 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 11 consecutive matches.

Lake Howell's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Cocoa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.

Lake Howell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cocoa, they will host Palm Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
